I think I am an atypical RV Driving School student as I have a number of years driving my class A but wanted to improve my comfort level in tight situations. I conveyed that desire to my instructor, Paul Metzinger, and he tailored the instruction to focus on that need. The area we used for training was excellent (an incomplete home development) which allowed for staging various driving situations in a controlled environment. We even used my TOAD to represent traffic at intersections to make the turning exercises more realistic. Paul also worked with me on improving my ability to back my RV into my home driveway by simulating my home environment after completing the camp spot back in exercise. His tips were very useful and I was able to successfully apply them when I got home. Overall, I was very satisfied with the course.Suggestions:I think a focused class on just on the road driving situations would be useful. I always ask myself ‘Can I make that turn?’. I bet that specific scenarios can be defined and set up that can test an individuals ability to assess a turn and then react accordingly. You could easily spend 4 hours on this subject alone.

We wanted to provide feedback on our recent lesson. Duane, our instructor, was awesome! He was very responsive and timely before the lesson and was absolutely incredible during the lesson. He asked what we wanted to focus on and he structured the lesson to meet those needs. We have never driven a motor home before (other than driving it home from the dealership) and we were understandably very nervous. Duane’s patient manner and knowledge enabled us to feel much more comfortable in the rv and we are now confident that we can handle it on our future travels.
Thank you (and to Duane) so much for the school and the ability to have this kind of lesson. We highly recommend this to all new RV owners (or renters).I’ve attached a photo of the parallel parking piece of the lesson with Duane – my husband was driving. A😊

It was our good fortune to have met and received instruction from Paul Metzinger. He exhibits sincere enthusiasm and a conviction in that what your school provides is a necessary and responsible aspect of RV ownership. His sincerity in ensuring one understands the mechanics and goal of the assorted maneuvers and exercises quickly instills confidence in his instruction. Paul also is gifted with the ability to articulate the subtleties of how positioning ones wheels in a certain location eventually places the rig where one wishes for it to be parked.
We are forever grateful for Mr. Metzinger’s instruction. His mantra of, “Coach under control” remains an echo and fond memory of our time spent with him. It soon became as much a part of driving our motor coach as checking the mirrors.

My husband and I have discussed many times how much we appreciated the two days spent with Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy was professional, patient, articulate, knowledgeable, and had the heart of a teacher. It didn’t surprise us when we discovered he had been a teacher, high school principal, and professional driver. We still refer to our notes and the rule in our house is “if Jimmy said to do it, that’s good enough for us.” We even use his techniques when driving our personal automobiles.

Thank you for the opportunity to give feedback on our lesson. Both Gerry and I really enjoyed working with Joe and we both learned a lot. Joe was very informative, not only on driving techniques, but also on care of the RV, special web sites and applications for our phones, and many other fine details that will make our lives easier on the road. Gerry was especially appreciative of his attention to detail and thoroughness. I really liked that he was a bit of a perfectionist and kept working with me until we got it just right. I now feel much more comfortable in driving the RV. Attached is a picture that I took of Joe.

Paul Metzinger was a great instructor. He immediately put us at ease about the training and assured us that at the end of two days we would be completely comfortable and capable to drive our Class A RV anywhere – – – and he was completely right. He clearly communicated each aspect of highway driving, city driving, turning around, backing up, parking, etc. He incorporated significant practice until each aspect was almost second nature at the end. Almost all the course instruction has hands on. He also provided many RV operations and travel tips based on his many years of RV experience. We give him the highest possible rating for the training he provided to us.

I usually don’t comment on our testimonials that we receive, but do watch as this lady negotiates her RV with confidence. Robert P.Lorrin was a great instructor and the overall experience exceeded my expectations.
He was a very friendly and easy going individual which help a lot in calming my nerves throughout the day. After trying several time and then finally properly performing a parking lot maneuver, when asked he always let me try the maneuver one for time so that I never felt rushed. During the “road trip” he also let me know what was coming next so that I felt more comfortable.
During the backing lessons he set up a course to simulate the parking area next to my house which was a GREAT confidence booster when I had to park the unit the first time the next day. And I made it!!! Again he didn’t rush and took the time I needed to understand the maneuver.
