We really enjoyed our class with Michael last week. He was most helpful in teaching my wife and me the basics on driving and navigating our fifth wheel. We appreciated his thorough and comprehensive approach to the course. After we returned from our last trip and had to back the 5th wheel into our storage space, we successfully did it on the first try!
Teri C.My husband and I have been RVing for over 40 years, the last 15 years in a 45 foot diesel pusher. I have never driven one of these big rigs as I have always felt very intimidated by the sheer size of the unit, however, I knew I really needed to learn to drive. When we discovered the RV Driving School would be offering lessons in Gillette, WY, at the Newmar International Rally, my husband quickly signed me up to have Paul Metzinger as my instructor. I wasn’t excited at the prospect of getting behind the wheel of our coach, but I knew it was necessary.
Prior to the behind the wheel training, we attended 3 driving seminars presented by Paul. These seminars were very informative, and Paul stressed the importance of women learning how to drive RVs. He stressed how the driving classes are taught in such a way that one can be successful in this endeavor.
On day 1 of my lessons, I was anxious, but Paul was very clear in his instructions, even repeating them if necessary. He was very patient and reassuring as we began. Paul was quick to make positive comments, thumbs ups, when I was successful with the particular task at hand. The first day we concentrated on making right and left turns, driving around the rally venue, and even driving on the interstate. The more I drove the more confident I became! By the end of the first day of instruction I knew I would be successful in completing the course.
On day 2 of my lessons, Paul had me backing up our 45 ft coach in a straight line for 500 feet. He was very complimentary on my accomplishment. We then drove to the old residential part of town, where the streets were narrow and many cars parked along the curb. I was very anxious, but by using the tips Paul had taught me, and with his encouragement, I was able to drive in a “real time” situation. I felt very proud of myself! Lastly, Paul taught me how to easily back into an RV site by using the pivot point on the coach.
Paul was an incredible instructor, so patient, encouraging, and thorough in his instructions and his expectations. He has given me the confidence I need to drive our coach, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to learn from him. Now I actually think driving the RV is fun!

I loved my lesson! It definitely has helped me to feel more confident to drive my new RV! Paul did a great job in making certain it was MY lesson and therefore helping me with the exact things that I felt were important to ME. I had already driven on the highway, but I was very uncomfortable around town and on narrow neighborhood streets, parking lots, etc. So he helped me feel much better about how to gauge my position in my own lane! Then he worked with my husband (my “drive along” person) to help us find our pivot point and our turning reference. At the end of the lesson we hooked up our tow vehicle. I enjoyed Paul’s 3 seminars at the rally, too. I loved his mantras of Keep Control of the Coach…….and GOAL! Very helpful. I especially enjoyed the seminar of watching the driving…..and the one on why women should drive. The one with the long video was not quite as interesting as it was no really interactive, but Paul has a good sense of humor and made it interesting!
I would definitely recommend Paul to anyone wishing to take an RV lesson. He is a great instructor and has a good way of instilling confidence! He is greatly experienced and was able to answer all of my questions and gave me lots of great tips! I would have liked to write down more of the tips, but of course, I was driving instead!
Great Program….great instructor and he worked hard with me to find a time for me to fit into his busy schedule and I appreciated that, too!

Just want to say that Duane Kunze did an excellent conducting our training. He called the day prior to ensure that we were still on schedule and provided directions to where the training would be conducted. He did a great job of covering the safety aspects of driving the RV including how to test the air brakes in the event that was part of the DPS driving exam. He was very patient during the actual driving portion, and provided clear, timely instructions giving adequate time to perform lane changes etc. He had the routes to be driven well planned out to provide several different types of driving/traffic patterns. We both feel much more comfortable now, having had this experience. Thanks to you and your staff for a quality experience.

We wanted to share with you our experience with TJ.He is extremely responsive whenever we contact him either by email, phone, or text. He was punctual both days. His expert instructions and guidance helped promote confidence in my husband (who is the primary driver) and me as his spotter in our ability to navigate our 33 foot trailer plus 22 foot truck.. He was extremely patient, especially with me. We learned a great deal with taking sharp right and left turns, and many hours on backing up. I would highly recommend TJ to anyone who wants to learn to drive their RVs whether it is a an A-class, travel trailer, or 5th wheel. Thank you so much for offering the course. We are extremely happy and satisfied with our time with TJ.

It was AWESOME!! Mike was so patient with me. I learned so much and now feel much more confident that I can put our 43′ bus anywhere I want it! I’d highly recommend this class for all novice drivers. Even experienced drivers can learn a lot! Worth every penny! 5 STAR!!

My wife and I attended your driving school May 5th and 6th 2018. Our instructor was Jimmy Johnson and all I can say is WOW!!! he did and excellent job. My wife had never driven an RV and I had maybe 24 hrs behind the wheel, I particularly like the fact that 95% of the 2 day course was spent on the road driving or doing other drills. Jimmy was very BIG on safety and always made you feel comfortable behind the wheel. We are not experts by no means and understand that you never stop learning but we both feel confident enough to take our bus out and enjoy the experience thanks to Jimmy Johnson and the RV Driving School.

On June 4-5, 2018, we spent two days in Auburn, AL, with RV Driving School instructor Phil Bachman. We are new to the RV world but I wondered if taking a two-day class would make any difference. The difference was night and day. Phil was an exceptionally knowledgeable and generous teacher. In two days we had many revelations about our rv that weren’t found in the books, and the many sensible nuggets that he shared with us about driving as we practiced have completely changed the rv driving experience. This was the best money we have spent in a long time, and a gift that will keep giving.
Thank you!
We are so pleased that we chose to take our RV driving course with Paul Nordan in Columbus, NC. Paul is an excellent instructor – patient and very knowledgeable. His calm demeanor is a huge plus in putting his students at ease, making learning easy and fun. Paul has tremendous experience in training and also with lots of RV travel of his own. This combination provided us with not only the training we needed, but also prompted conversations and questions that have helped us already.
Paul and Khristina graciously welcomed us to stay at their beautiful NC farm during our training. They are fabulous people with a wealth of knowledge they are willing to share if you ask. We highly recommend Paul Nordan.

Peggy and I learned a great deal through our experience driving with Matt. He put us at ease, and made sure we didn’t get ourselves into situations that would be dangerous.
We both wish we had gotten better at backing up, and we know that will take more practice. Matt was able to coach us about backing up, so we could get it done, but we had a hard time figuring out how we could coach each other to get it done.
All in all, we highly recommend it!
