Driver training helped me with parking and driving conditions on different types of roads. I needed help with right handturns and using the transmission and exhaust braking to control the vehicle rather than the brakes. Mr. Johnson is a good teacher and the handouts helped me with pre-trip planning, attitude when driving, and reminders I can use such as Velcro sticky pads on the exhaust brake and shift buttons so I don’t have to take my eyes off the road while engaging.

Just completed a two day Class A driving course with Michael Neill as our instructor. Mike was kind, patient, most of all competent, and even laughed at our lame jokes. At the start of the class, Lane had about 1,500 miles behind the wheel of our Newmar Dutch Star 4328 and Brenda (age 76) had none, as her driving experience was in a 35′ Class C.Our main goal was to make Brenda reasonably comfortable with being the relief driver as she had been in the Class C, and to do so without the stress of having Lane be her instructor.Backing, parking, right turns, left turns, turns, lane position, dashboard layout, mirrors, safety, driving on all sorts of roads, all were covered and much more. Many, many thanks to Mike for making our class so instructive and confidence building. Mike Neill and RV Driving School, you have our highest recommendation and heartfelt thanks.

I took my RV Driving Course with Candace Rivero at Elkhart, Indiana with my husband as a ride-a-long. Candace was very pleasant to work with sharing her expertise and tips. I finished the course feeling comfortable in the driver seat and confident applying the skills she shared of driving, backing, and maneuvering my rig and now have the foundation to build upon to perfect what I’ve learned. With my husband getting ready to retire soon and as we make our travels my goal was to feel confident in the driver seat to help him with the driving so he can enjoy the sites too! I felt that confidence in driving our rig home after successfully completing the lessons. Big Shout Out to Candace!

On Friday, July 24th, We met your instuctor, Mr. Phillip Beasly for my lesson. It was very informative, andsuccessful. We had a specific need to be able to back into our carport without having to make multiple attempts. We sent him photos our driveway, and carport, along with demensions that he requested. He showed me what I was doing right, and what I needed to change. He also gave me instuction how to back into a 90 degree campsite in tight quarters.
We are completely satified. When we arrived back home, I was able to back right in. My wife said we took just over 5 minutes. ( the last time it was 30 minutes) She took two videos of Phillip coaching me. They are attached. This course was well worth the time and money. We highly recommend it.

Good afternoon George. My wife Carla and I completed your two day course this week. We learned of your school via NIRVC. Mike Lynch was our instructor. We recently purchased our first coach 2019 Newmar DutchStar. We wanted to improve our driving skills beforebeginning our first trip in our new motor coach. We were able to schedule our training very quickly. While I have about 10,000 miles of RV driving experience my wife had never driven a rig before this class. While I will be the primary driver we wanted Carla to be able to handle driving in a emergency. She was definitely anxious prior to starting the training but Mike put her at ease very quickly. His experience level, professional demeanor and obvious desire to make us better drivers are the main reasons we would highly recommend anyone from beginner to experienced to take this course if they want to be better and safer drivers. For my wife she now has the confidence to operate on the road. For me, Mike helped shrink our 44 foot coach to where it does not seem so long!
I will send you a video of my wife parallel parking our motor coach. I think was on her first try. Outstanding instruction. Thanks,Robert

I wanted to let you know how much my husband and I both enjoyed our two days of lessons with Candace Rivero! To start out with, she is a very good humored and patient person – who never minded it when I asked her to repeat something so I could get it in my brain!
On the road – wow – she is awesome! I had only driven our 32’ motorhome for approximately 10’ – in reverse – in our driveway. I was very intimidated. Not only did Candace start out with a factually-based-you-can-do-it pep talk – but she had me on the road fast!!! By the end of the first day, I had driven on regular roads, narrow roads with crumbling shoulders, and a highway. I never would have thought it possible! My husband honed his more developed skills with backing and odd parking arrangements. Day two was also awesome – Candace let us repeat various driver and passenger side parking exercises over and over – without complaint!Candace rocks. She is a great instructor and a delightful person! I hope we stay in touch many years!Thank you RV Driving School!!

I was an experienced 5th wheel guy. I was only lookin for nuggets to get better for new motor home and Mike exceeded anything I could have expected.
The back up practice in multiple configurations was very helpful. It will help me with RV sites and alignment. Practical and real which is what I really needed.
Guidance on speed limits and yellow road cautions was a good center of gravity point I needed to hear. I even shared with my wife (dangerous of course). It safe for both and she was surprised I told her and I shared the primary goal of safety which is a credit to Mike.
The safety walk around checklist will stay in my head for ever and make me safer
The road wise thoughts for swerving and impact hit home for me and shred with my wife to help us stay safe
I gained the confidence and am ready for my Class B license which was my primary goal for this course.
Well done and worth the money to me!!!!

First our instructor Joe Powell was exceptional. Listened, asked questions and made sure we were comfortable with everything. Explained why and how so we could understand and then consequences of your actions while driving the Motorhome. This training is highly recommended for anyone. 5 of 5 stars.

We just purchased a new Tiffin Allegro 33 ft RV after trying a much smaller rental. Given the large size of our new rig, we considered it imperative to take lessons in how to drive it. I forget exactly how we found your company but it was online. Within a few hours of registering our interest, Joe reached out by email. He was polite and professional, and we soon agreed on a date and time for our training.
I was dubious at first that it would take two full days of training but subsequent events proved me wrong. We arrived on time at our rendezvous to find Joe already set up and waiting. We were very happy to see that he took coronavirus precautions as seriously as we did, and he conducted almost all training in a mask. The only times he was not wearing a mask he performed social distancing.
I will not review each step of the training but would like to highlight the following aspects:
- Joe jumped right in to practical learning without wasting time with a lot of theoretical knowledge. We were continually practicing what we were learning.
- Joe’s standards were set to the highest reasonable level: in other words, we had to achieve more than almost any other RV or truck drivers would do in daily circumstances. This meant that our turns needed to be sharper, our braking better, etc. etc. If we didn’t achieve it the first time, we did it again and again till we got it right.
- Joe always maintained great enthusiasm, vigor and good humor. Most of the time he was out on the hot tarmac directing and coaching us, but never showed any sign of flagging (or irritation).
- Joe identified from the beginning the various traps and pitfalls that other drivers can create for an RV driver and taught us how to avoid or worst case, manage those situations.
- Although Joe clearly has a vast experience of RVs, trucks and driving, he did not bring in his own war stories except once or twice for a very clear lesson. In other words, he focused the training on us and our needs, rather than his personal history. In my experience, this is extraordinarily rare for experienced professionals when they teach.
After our training day was done, Joe spent up to another hour each day helping us learn about features of our RV and answering questions about the RV life. I was particularly struck by this since he must have been exhausted and it went well beyond the call of duty.
A week later we set off on the long trip to Vermont which continues today. I am convinced that without Joe’s training, we already would have had at least one accident if not several.

We had a great time and learned a lot. Mike is a phenomenal instructor. We went through all our concerns, practiced the tips he gave us, he helped adjust our mirrors and really gave us a great basis for driving a 45’ coach.
