George and Valerie Mayleben, as RV Driving School Owners, we enjoyed our full time RV lifestyle but now are the proud owners of a 2019 Coachmen Galleria 24FL. We currently live in Olathe Kansas and travel frequently all over the U.S.
Grandmas, Start Your Engines!
Follow Valerie’s blog as she faces her fears and becomes increasingly comfortable driving our 40′ motor home. After five years of making excuses and approximately 55,000 miles in the passenger seat, Valerie now shares driving responsibility with husband, George. Most importantly, she has acquired the confidence to know that, in an emergency situation, she could manage it alone. Not only can we put on more miles together, but she finds herself less stressed and more comfortable when George takes the driver’s seat.
Class A Motor Home – Travel comfortably across the country
It is big, tall, and weighs a lot! To make your adventure pleasurable you need to know some basic information about your rig. How tall is it, how much does it weigh, and this needs to be with you as you drive away. If you have been a safe driver, you still need to make sure you refine your skills with this new rig. We strongly encourage you to attend an Escapee Boot Camp if this is your first experience with a large Class A, or B, or C. Our behind the wheel lessons will help you be a safe driver!
The Fifth Wheel – lots of room and a vehicle to go to the store with.
Once you have learned how to hook up safely, you need to make sure you know your size and weight. We recommend you put critical pieces of information on or near you as you drive, preferably on the dash or visor. You need to know how tall you are at the maximum level of your trailer, and you need to know what the weight is of your rig. We put on seminars at some of the major rallies, and highly recommend the Escapees Boot Camp and our behind the wheel lessons to learn those facts and tips that can make you have a safe experience with your RV.
Class C – Great travels with easy access to the mechanical workings
